OMS SECURES CHARTER

We are very pleased to announce that we have just secured a major charter, at very short notice, using our Vessel Finding Service.

This is the timeline of events!

MONDAY 22 APRIL 2013 2044 HOURS

Received email request "not sure if you can help us at short notice, but we need a vessel to support a survey on the East Coast, commencing this Thursday"  All we were told in addition to this was that it required accommodation for 10 and it was for 24 hour operations.  Also, the request was from a totally new customer that we had not previously worked with.

.............Quick Brainstorm and Consideration of Current Range of Vessels...............................

MONDAY 22 APRIL 2013 2055 HOURS

Email sent to owner who may have suitable vessel, as even with the scant information we were given, we were not sure if any of our current vessels would be suitable

.................and in the meantime.....................................................

we sent an immediate response to the enquirer - "yes, we will do our best to help you - we are in the process of locating a suitable vessel for you and will revert soonest"

MONDAY 22 APRIL 2013 2100 HOURS

We have located what is potentially a suitable vessel and are awaiting details.

Keeping both the owner and the enquirer informed at all stages.  We then asked the enquirer if they were able to give us any more details whilst compiling the vessel specification in our format.  The email that came in was unbelievable - certain specific requirements were mentioned and the vessel we had located had all of them!

MONDAY 22 APRIL 2013 2137 HOURS

Detailed specification of the located vessel submitted.  A 60m vessel, more than capable of fulfilling the requirements that is located in the vicinity that the customer requires.

MONDAY 22 APRIL 2139 HOURS

Confirmation that the vessel submitted would indeed fit the bill and a request for the rates

MONDAY 22 APRIL 2146 HOURS

Owner asked to provide rates and full details of his requirements for the proposed charter.  Response by return that this information would be with us early Tuesday morning as the owner was about to leave for a flight so he would work on this during flight and send as soon as he landed.

Customer informed of this and is happy to wait until first thing Tuesday morning

TUESDAY 23 APRIL 0536 HOURS

Rates and full details of requirement received from vessel owner.

TUESDAY 23 APRIL 0832 HOURS

Full, formal tender submitted to customer

TUESDAY 23 APRIL 0846 HOURS

Full details and rates sent by our customer to their customer for consideration.  Then by return email, a question on fuel capacity and cost which was answered immediately

TUESDAY 23 APRIL 1241 HOURS

Phone call from customer to say that our tender had been accepted.

Vessel owner informed immediately and introductory email sent to both our customer and the vessel owner to make the introduction to each other so that they can finalise the details and arrange the BIMCO

At this point, on the verbal go-ahead, the vessel owner also commenced the mobilisation of his vessel as a vessel of this size requires 48 hours to mobilise.

During the rest of the day and into this morning, the Commercial Departments at both the customer and the vessel owner worked to get the BIMCO agreed whilst the Master carried on with the vessel mobilisation.

WEDNESDAY 24 APRIL 1708 HOURS

The 3 words we had been eagerly awaiting "DONE AND SIGNED"

We think it is fair to say that we now have both a happy customer and a happy vessel owner, not to mention a slight bit of kudos for us in proving that we do indeed do what we say we are going to do, when we are going to.

Many thanks to all concerned.
